Defconn and Yujeong cook Chuseok delicacies in 'honey' concept video

Singer Defconn has released a video capturing the process of preparing Chuseok holiday food alongside guest Yujeong under a "honey" (spouse) concept. In the video uploaded to the Defcon TV channel, Defconn is seen shopping for holiday ingredients at a market before heading home to fry traditional pancakes (jeon) with Yujeong.

Market shopping and menu selection begins with "Honey"

At the start of the video, Defconn visits a market to prepare for the holiday. During a phone call, Defconn informs Yujeong that they will be preparing holiday food together and asks for her menu preferences. Yujeong requests meat pancakes (yukjeon), pollack pancakes (dongtaejeon), and skewers (sanjeok), along with sikhye (sweet rice drink). Defconn completes his mission by coordinating with market vendors to purchase the beef, pollack fillets, and sikhye requested by Yujeong. The pumpkin songpyeon (rice cakes) purchased at the market cost 13,000 won per 1kg, while the sikhye was bought for 5,000 won per pack.

A "cooking concert" with Yujeong: Making meat and pollack pancakes

After finishing the shopping, Defconn visits Yujeong's house to begin the cooking process. The two continue their conversation under the established "honey" concept, with Yujeong mentioning she felt "a little fluttery" when Defconn called her "honey" over the phone.

During the cooking process, Defconn admits to his lack of culinary skills and asks Yujeong for assistance. The two even utilize Chat GPT to look up recipes. To make the meat pancakes, they pat the blood from the beef with paper towels and season it with salt and pepper before coating it in egg wash and frying it in a pan. They continue the holiday preparations by doing the same with the pollack fillets. In the video, the pair describes their collaborative cooking as a "cooking concert."

Enjoying a holiday feast

After finishing the cooking, the two spend time sharing the prepared meal. Defconn pairs the handmade pancakes with pre-prepared galbitang (short rib soup), japchae (glass noodles), and songpyeon. The pair chats while tasting their handmade pancakes, maintaining the holiday atmosphere with beer. Defconn notes that he often feels bored during the holidays as there is not much to do at home, and continues his meal while sharing the food he brought.
