Singer Defconn personally took on the challenge of walking deliveries amidst a heatwave, experiencing the grueling labor of professional riders firsthand. Although he usually enjoys exercising, this delivery challenge conducted in the scorching summer weather proved to be a much more exhausting journey than expected.

The reality of walking deliveries in Sangam-dong

Defconn took on the walking delivery challenge in Sangam-dong, his usual area of activity. He could not hide his bewilderment when the exercise mission proposed by the production team turned into actual delivery work. Having previously only been a consumer receiving food at his doorstep, he experienced the delivery process firsthand by running on foot.

Performing deliveries during a full-blown heatwave was no easy feat. Defconn confessed to the production team that the physical exhaustion was so intense that even treating them to a bowl of shaved ice felt difficult. The weight of the work experienced while delivering food directly was on a completely different dimension from what he had previously imagined.

Having performed the deliveries himself, Defconn expressed deep respect for the riders working through platforms such as Baedal Minjok and Coupang. He referred to the active riders as "seniors," conveying his sincere respect for the intensity of their work and the environments they endure.

During the challenge, Defconn expressed anticipation that the customers who received the food he personally delivered might reach out through comments. Moving beyond a simple experience, he drew empathy by looking closely at the daily lives of platform workers.

The need for income management for "N-jobbers"

The activity also highlighted the realistic concerns of "N-jobbers"—those who generate income through various platforms, including delivery riders. Efficiently managing settlements across multiple platforms was mentioned as one of the major challenges facing riders.

Through this challenge, Defconn confirmed the hardships of delivery work while simultaneously suggesting the need for financial services that can consolidate and manage multiple sources of income. The sweat shed in the heatwave went beyond simple exercise, leading to a deeper understanding of frontline labor.
