hy Yakult XO surpasses 40 million units sold with zero sugar and fat
hy's Yakult XO reaches 40 million cumulative sales in just 16 months, fueled by the 'Healthy Pleasure' trend and innovative reformulation technology.
| NBNTV = Reporter Jung Chang-gyu | hy's zero-sugar fermented milk 'Yakult XO' has surpassed 40 million cumulative units sold in just one year and four months since its launch. The product is seeing a steep upward trend, selling an additional 15 million units in just four months after reaching the 25 million mark last May.

This popularity aligns with the 'Healthy Pleasure' consumption trend, where consumers seek to balance health and taste. While Yakult XO reduces sugar and fat content to 0% and contains only 10kcal per 100mL, it also supports gut health by containing five types of independently developed patented strains.
The key to its success lies in 'Reformulation' technology, which maintains the original flavor profile while reducing sugar. hy applied the 'LF-7' method, which consumes the sugars in raw milk during long-term cultivation, allowing the brand to perfectly replicate the characteristic Sweet & Sour flavor of fermented milk despite the zero-sugar content.
Collaborations with external brands have also driven the product's success. The 'Low-Sugar Honey Pear XO Yakult,' launched in April in collaboration with Mega MGC Coffee, gained massive popularity on SNS, leading to an extension of its initial limited edition sales period.
"This is the result of the 'Sugar Reduction Campaign' that has continued since 2014," said Choi Young-taek, head of the hy marketing team. "We will continue to steadily expand our product lineup to satisfy both health and taste."
