A food talk show where global K-POP stars gather to share their individual food preferences has begun. The Mnet Plus original content 〈IDOL'S TABLE〉 is a program that captures the process of idols gathering in one place to communicate while enjoying everything from familiar Korean food to hometown dishes from various countries.

Kimchi dishes with ramen powder and perilla oil added

In the early part of the video, the process of creating the so-called 'kick'—a special ingredient that completes the taste of a kimchi dish—was captured. The cast showed the process of slicing perilla leaves to enhance the flavor of the kimchi dish, and to this, they added an unexpected key ingredient. According to the revealed cooking process, ramen powder was used as an essential ingredient that determines the taste of the dish. After adding the ramen powder, the cast completed the dish by applying perilla oil twice, adding a point of flavor.

The meeting of 10 years of know-how and MSG

In the following segment, a cooking battle themed around tomato egg stir-fry (todalbok) took place. One cast member, mentioning they had been making tomato egg stir-fry for 10 years, showed skilled expertise by preparing tomatoes separately for the sauce and for texture. The tomatoes for the sauce were diced and sprinkled with salt to remove moisture, while the tomatoes for texture were cut into large pieces to provide contrast.

In the cooking process, a unique method of frying the eggs was introduced. During the process of putting the eggs in a bowl and mixing them, a meringue-like texture was created, which was then fried golden in oil before being stir-fried together with minced garlic and tomatoes. A sauce was made by mixing soy sauce and oyster sauce in a 1:1 ratio, followed by the process of stir-frying so that the fried eggs sufficiently absorbed the sauce.

What particularly caught the eye was the final 'kick' used to increase the perfection of the dish. After forming the standard shape of tomato egg stir-fry, MSG appeared as a key ingredient to maximize the umami. The cast finished the dish while mentioning the completed taste achieved through MSG.
