On a competition stage, the voice of a contestant singing can sometimes be the sole support for overcoming life's pains. In a recently released competition video from TV CHOSUN's 'Miss & Mister Trot', the songs sung by contestants, containing their own personal stories, turned the studio into a sea of tears.

"A song my mother loved"... The song selection Yeom Yu-ri chose for her mother

Contestant Yeom Yu-ri stood on stage for her mother, who is battling pancreatic cancer. According to the description in the video and the conversation among the participants, Yeom Yu-ri's mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently recuperating at a seaside village in the countryside for natural healing. Before the stage, Yeom Yu-ri revealed that she selected Lee Mi-ja's 'The Reason for My Life' because it was a song her mother usually loved. Through the conversation in the video, Yeom Yu-ri expressed her heart, saying, "The reason to live amidst sadness, the reason to live amidst pain, resonates with me like the lyrics," and that she wanted to represent her mother's life through the song her mother recommended. Just before the stage, Yeom Yu-ri showed the image of a reliable daughter, holding back tears and telling her mother, "Since my dream has come true, I will work hard for you."

In an interview after the stage, Yeom Yu-ri said, "My mother came all the way to the seat and said she was glad she came," and shared that the support from many people is a great strength for her mother to overcome the illness. In particular, Yeom Yu-ri showed deep affection for her mother, saying, "Even if I am born again, I will be born as my mother's daughter."

"Music held onto me"... The record of life sung by Park Ji-hu

In the following stage, Park Ji-hu, who works as an air conditioner installation technician, sang 'Thank You, Life', which contains his own life. Through an interview before the stage, Park Ji-hu confessed his weary past, having to live alone since the age of 16 due to his parents' divorce during his childhood. He said, "During the times when I was cold, hungry, scared, and lonely, there was no one to help me," and stated that music was what held onto him at the moments he wanted to give up on life.

Park Ji-hu began singing after conveying his sincere heart, saying, "If I receive praise saying 'you have lived well' on this stage today, I feel like my resentment will be resolved." His stage provided an immersive experience as if watching a monodrama, leading the judges to grant him a direct pass to the main round (All Heart).

Oh Yu-jin conveys empathy with 'Peony', which resembles her mother's life

Lastly, contestant Oh Yu-jin sang 'Peony', which contains her feelings for her mother. Oh Yu-jin has shown a special bond with her mother, such as sharing daily life and exchanging practice videos. In the video, Oh Yu-jin stepped onto the stage saying, "Everything my mother says feels like the lyrics of 'Peony' to me, so I want to tell her stories about my mother."

Oh Yu-jin's song captured the heart of a daughter who is even coming to resemble her mother's wrinkles and way of life. The song lyrics include lines such as "I look like my mother in the mirror" and "My mother said, do not live like me," and the cast in the video turned red-eyed as they deeply empathized with Oh Yu-jin's appearance and song after she finished her stage.
