Vestella Lab is scaling up its operations through the Ministry of SMEs and Startups Scale-up TIPS program.

According to Vestella Lab on the 14th, Samho Green Investment will serve as the operator for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups Scale-up TIPS project. The company stated that this selection will allow it to strengthen its R&D and commercialization capabilities while expanding its business into the field of Physical AI-based autonomous manufacturing.

Following its selection for Scale-up TIPS, Vestella Lab will conduct research and development for a Factory World Model platform for Physical AI-based autonomous manufacturing over a three-year period from August 2026 to July 2029. The government R&D support fund is 2 billion won.

The core objective of this project is to transform physical factory environments into digital spaces that AI can comprehend. Vestella Lab plans to develop a Factory World Model that integrates the location, status, and movement relationships of spaces, facilities, workers, materials, and robots into a single unified digital model.

A key component involves applying a spatial reference system based on object addresses to assign location data to every facility and object within the factory. This will convert simple coordinate values into meaningful spatial information that AI can interpret, such as "in front of Facility A" or "Work Zone B.'

By doing so, the company plans to integrate various spatial data, including CCTV and indoor positioning, with existing manufacturing, logistics, and robot systems. This will enable AI to comprehensively grasp the location and status of both spaces and objects within the factory.

The company intends to use this spatial status information to analyze movement and workflows, further advancing the technology so that robots such as AMR and AGV, along with manufacturing systems, can utilize real-time location and status data.

Vestella Lab plans to expand the application of this technology across various industrial sectors, including automotive, battery, and electronics manufacturing sites, as well as logistics centers and AI data centers.

"Based on object addresses and the Factory World Model, we will transform actual factories into digital spaces that AI can understand," said Jeong Sang-su, CEO of Vestella Lab. "We aim to create new business opportunities in the autonomous manufacturing sector by enabling robots and manufacturing systems to utilize these digital environments in the future."
