SOOP Kicks Off StarCraft Remastered ASL Season 22

According to SOOP on the 17th, the ASL Season 22 Season Open, played with StarCraft: Remastered, is set to begin. The Season Open is an open tournament available to anyone looking to secure a spot in the upcoming ASL main tournament. Participants can enter regardless of their existing ASL points, and the winner of each round will receive 1,000,000 won in prize money along with a direct seed into the ASL Season 22 top 24 main tournament.

Top-tier players who have been staples on the ASL stage, including Lee Jae-Dong (Z), Snow (P), Do Jae-wook (P), and Kim Yoon-hwan (Z), have already completed their applications. As an open tournament, expectations are high for high-level matches where established veterans and new challengers will compete head-to-head.

The event will follow a one-day tournament format, determining the winner from the preliminaries to the finals in a single day. Since all matches will be played as single-elimination bouts, unpredictable results and fresh strategies are expected to be the primary points of interest.

Additionally, new maps to be used in ASL Season 22 will be debuted during this Season Open. Fans will have the opportunity to preview player strategies on these new maps ahead of the official start of the ASL season.
