Singer Kim Bum-soo has opened up about the stage trauma that forced him into a long hiatus. According to a video uploaded to the official channel of the SBS variety program 'My Little Old Boy', Kim revealed that he has been battling trauma for approximately seven years following an incident during a past concert.

In the video, Kim shared the pain of having past memories resurface unexpectedly as he attempts to return to the stage. He suggested he went through such a difficult period that he was once told, "You must not perform in your current state." Reflecting on his recent attempts to return, he said, "I took a break and finally came back up (on stage), and since I felt better than expected, I thought I'd give it another try, but at that moment, I felt like I was being sucked back into that instant."

He explained that the specific incident from his past concert resurfaces just as he is trying to restart his career. During the conversation, Kim expressed the intense pressure he feels, as if the past event were being reenacted on stage.

The footage also captures his efforts to overcome the trauma and reclaim his voice. Kim explained his current progress, saying, "My condition has improved a lot, and the parts that were fluctuating in the beginning seem to have stabilized a bit now." However, during vocal practice, he encountered difficulties in certain pitch ranges.

During the session, Kim noted, "I can feel this section is slightly uncomfortable." In response, an expert in the video provided vocal coaching, advising, "Since the sections where Bum-soo is most uncomfortable right now are Mi and Fa, you must practice with the feeling of tightening this part a bit more."
