Nori Games to shut down Epic Nine on August 31
Nori Games announces the service termination of its subculture-themed mobile MMORPG Epic Nine after 11 months of service.

Epic Nine was positioned as a subculture-themed mobile MMORPG, focusing on character growth and item farming within a world where neon-lit cyber structures and dreamy magic coexist. However, the progression from character creation to mid-to-late-stage leveling felt like a reward-centric tutorial, following the standard level design of similar MMORPGs, which led to periods of monotony.
As a result, the game was criticized for failing to capture the core essence of the MMORPG genre. Rather than leaning into its unique setting or worldview, the gameplay focused on repetitive growth and reward collection, causing players to lose interest during stagnation periods where they felt they were merely "high-level in name only.'
New downloads and in-app purchases have already been blocked. In accordance with internal standards, refund applications will be accepted until August 7 for payments made between July 1 and July 31.
A representative from Nori Games stated, "We have continuously sought ways to maintain the service to repay the support and love shown to Epic Nine, but we have ultimately come to the decision to deliver the news of service termination."
