Tae Jin Ah recalls performing 16 shows a day during his heyday

Singer Tae Jin Ah recently shared anecdotes from his heyday, recalling a period when he performed as many as 16 shows in a single day. Appearing on the original content 'Banlive' from the YouTube channel 'Miss & Mr. Trot,' Tae reflected on his explosive activity levels and lifestyle during those peak years.

"16 stages a day... meals were kimbap in the car"

During the video, Tae revealed that he once performed up to 16 stages in one day. He explained that due to his grueling schedule, he rarely had the opportunity to eat proper meals, often having to settle for kimbap kept in his car while traveling between venues. He noted that he lacked even the luxury of time to eat, as he had to spend his breaks reviewing scripts. He added that his schedule would typically wrap up around 2:30 AM after all performances were finished. Despite the exhaustion, he expressed that he felt happy and grateful to have such a busy schedule.

Tae mentioned that during his era as one of the 'Four Heavenly Kings of Trot,' his attire stood out even among his colleagues. He revealed that because he didn't have a dedicated stylist or makeup artist at the time, he chose his own clothes and handled his own makeup. He explained that if he found stylish clothing abroad, he would purchase it himself or have similar styles recreated in Korea. He specifically noted how he would use a mirror to perfect his look, such as matching scarves around his neck. He added that he still frequently checks himself in the mirror while getting dressed.

Tae also discussed his experiences collaborating with junior artists, including Rain. He cited a proactive attitude as the secret to building relationships with younger performers. He explained that he would personally visit the dressing rooms of juniors at recording sites to strike up conversations and exchange phone numbers. He noted that these efforts allowed him to build meaningful relationships that eventually led to professional collaborations. Additionally, he spoke about his close family bond, mentioning how his son Eru composes songs for him.
