NCT 127 Reflects on 10 Years With Seventh Album ‘Blingy’ and Its Message of Finding the Shine Within

NCT 127 marked the 10th anniversary of its debut by looking back on the decade the group has spent together. The members expressed their gratitude to the fans who have remained by their side throughout those years, while also sharing their determination to continue growing and presenting themselves as good artists in the future.

According to a video from KBS WORLD TV’s “The Seasons S9,” uploaded on September 21, 2026, NCT 127 appeared on the program for a combination of performances and conversation. Through both parts of the appearance, the members revisited what reaching their 10-year milestone meant to them. The program also featured a varied set of performances, including songs from the group’s seventh full-length album.

Reflecting on the anniversary, the members agreed that the past 10 years had gone by more quickly than they expected. Although a decade can sound like an exceptionally long period, their focus on the work in front of them made the passage of time feel much faster.

One member explained, “Because we were so absorbed in doing one thing, I thought 10 years would feel like a very long time. Even so, I feel grateful that the members, the staff and so many people are still here beside us.” The member added that reaching this point had renewed a personal resolve: “It makes me promise myself that I should continue to be a good artist.”

The group also addressed the recent news that all of its members had renewed their contracts. Alongside that update, NCT 127 discussed the release of its seventh full-length album, “Blingy,” and introduced the meaning at the center of the record’s title track, which is also called “Blingy.”

The members explained that the song is not about pursuing a shine that can be seen only on the outside. Instead, “Blingy” carries a message encouraging people to search for the sparkle within themselves. That idea gives the title track its central meaning as NCT 127 begins the next stage of its career after its first decade together.

A stage connecting Seo Taiji and Boys’ “To You” with the new song “Piñata”

The day’s performances were arranged to connect the group’s past with its present. Members Haechan and Jaehyun prepared “To You” by Seo Taiji and Boys, performing the version remade by Sung Si-kyung. The selection had a personal connection for Haechan because it was the first song he sang during the period when he served as a music-show host.

Haechan said he had first encountered the song through the senior artist’s version and therefore felt especially nervous about performing it. By returning to a song connected with an earlier point in his career, the performance added a retrospective dimension to NCT 127’s 10th-anniversary appearance.

The group then turned to its current music by introducing “Piñata,” a track included on the seventh full-length album. The song was reported to have placed near the top of the popularity rankings on the YouTube channel and to have reached 10 million views within five days of its release.

NCT 127 performed “Piñata” on the program, using the stage to convey the song’s energy directly. Its placement after “To You” allowed the set to move from a performance associated with Haechan’s past to a song representing the group’s latest album.

A message for members serving in the military: “Let’s have dinner together in good health”

During the talk segment, the members also revealed their affection for Doyoung and Jungwoo, who are currently completing their military service. They mentioned “Meoktuyu,” content they had worked on with Doyoung, and expressed regret that the activity had to be suspended because of his service.

Jaehyun spoke directly about the promise behind the message, saying, “I told you that if we appeared on ‘The Seasons’ later, I would make sure to send you a video letter.” His words reflected the distinctive bond among the members even while their activities are temporarily taking place apart.

The group closed its messages to the members in military service with warm encouragement. “Let’s have dinner together in good health,” they said, also adding, “I hope we can appear on the next ‘The Seasons’ together soon.” The remarks conveyed their wish to reunite in good health and once again share the program’s stage as a group.
