Kim Jae Joong creates 'Bibitan' perfume for fans

Singer Kim Jae Joong showcased a special way to connect with his fans by personally creating a perfume that embodies his affection for them.

According to a video released on his official YouTube channel, 'Kim Jae Joong KIMJAEJOONG', Kim participated in a one-day perfumery class. The video captures him crafting a unique scent while keeping his fandom, 'Babies', in mind.

In the video, Kim began the process by classifying scent families alongside a professional perfumer. Expressing his personal preferences, he indicated a desire for a sweet aroma. While the perfumer initially suggested a floral profile, they ultimately proposed an oriental-based composition to incorporate Kim's preference for vanilla.

Kim blended three primary scents—baby powder, cotton, and green tea—to create the fragrance. He established baby powder as the main note, adjusting the ratios of cotton and green tea to find his signature scent. The final creation was named 'Bibitan.' As noted in the video, the name carries a double meaning: it signifies "making the hearts of Babies feel empty" (a play on the word 'empty') and also evokes the nostalgic image of BB pellets.

Upon completing the perfume, Kim expressed his hope that the project would be more than just a production, but a meaningful experience for his fans. According to the video description, the kit was designed to provide both visual and olfactory enjoyment for 'Babies.' Kim added a heartfelt message, hoping his fans will cherish the scent for a long time.

Throughout the process, Kim showed deep immersion as he learned the principles of perfumery, such as the fact that it takes approximately two weeks for scents to blend completely and how the fragrance becomes heavier and sweeter over time.
