Cho Jung-seok attempts frying Jeon for the first time, completes 10-variety set with Suchan
Actor Cho Jung-seok celebrates Chuseok by cooking a massive 10-variety Jeon set with help from rookie actor Suchan on his YouTube channel.
Actor Cho Jung-seok showcased his attempt at frying 10 different types of Jeon (Korean savory pancakes) for his agency staff to celebrate Chuseok.

Through his YouTube channel 'Channel Jo Jung-suk', Cho released a Chuseok special video filmed at his agency's office. In the video, Cho embarked on a serious cooking session, preparing a set of 10 different varieties of Jeon for his colleagues. At the start of the video, he revealed, "This is my first time frying Jeon," while expressing his gratitude to mothers across the country.
"I set an order to save oil"... Cho Jung-seok's 10-variety Jeon recipe
During the process, Cho proposed an efficient cooking order. According to the video, he aimed to save as much oil as possible and prevent flavors from mixing by frying vegetable-based Jeon—such as zucchini, chili pepper, and mushroom Jeon—first, followed by meat-based Yukjeon, and finally, pollack Jeon (Dongtaejeon). He explained the specific sequence, saying, "I'll fry the zucchini, chili pepper, and mushroom Jeon first, then move on to the meat, and the last one will be the pollack Jeon."
The menu consisted of 10 varieties: skewers (Kkochi-jeon), Sanjeok, tofu Jeon, zucchini Jeon, chili pepper Jeon, perilla leaf Jeon, Donggeurang-ttaeng, Yukjeon, and pollack Jeon. While preparing the ingredients, Cho noted his unfamiliarity with the task, saying, "When frying Jeon, I've always just picked them up and eaten them; this is my first time actually frying them." He performed detailed preparation, such as removing seeds from chili peppers and dividing ingredients for the skewers (ham, crab sticks, bell peppers, etc.) into three parts. He focused on making the skewers, mentioning he loved Kkochi-jeon most as a child.
Rookie actor Suchan appears as a 'savior'
Handling everything from prep to cooking alone, Cho expressed his struggles while waiting for help from his agency members. He highlighted the exhaustion of preparing holiday food, saying, "Someone should be by my side whisking the eggs, but right now, I'm in a situation where I have to do everything alone." The atmosphere shifted when rookie actor Suchan from the agency appeared. Cho expressed his joy, saying Suchan "appeared like a savior."
Drawing on his experience working part-time at a restaurant, Suchan demonstrated skillful knife skills to assist. Watching Suchan's quick movements, Cho remarked, "You could even be my Sous-chef." The two continued the process together, such as placing red chili peppers on top of the tofu Jeon, and Cho had Suchan taste the finished dish first. Suchan shared, "It's spicy, but it's delicious."
'Jeon Set' completed after a 2.5-hour struggle
After a cooking process lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, all 10 varieties of Jeon were completed. Looking at the spread, Cho noted, "There's enough that even if we all eat together with the agency members, there will be leftovers." Having finished, he once again expressed gratitude to those who prepare holiday food, saying, "I didn't know frying Jeon was this hard."
At the end of the video, Cho wished his subscribers, "I hope you all have a bountiful Hangawi," and mentioned Galbi-jjim (braised short ribs) as his next challenge.
