Ahn Eun-jin reveals acting secrets and upcoming drama 'A Love Other Than Yours'

Actress Ahn Eun-jin has shared her unique method of using music to deepen her acting immersion, along with her excitement for her upcoming project.

In a recent video from 'The Seasons S9' released via KBS WORLD TV, Ahn expressed her feelings regarding her first appearance on the show and revealed her deep affection for music. During the episode, Ahn took the stage to perform a 1994 track alongside Kim Jong Seo. She noted that during rehearsals, a senior colleague advised her to "focus on the lyrics while singing," highlighting her mindset as a performer tasked with delivering those words to the audience.

Using Eminem to build momentum: Regulating emotions through music

Ahn revealed that music is a vital tool for her acting process, noting that she maintains different playlists depending on the filming situation and her emotional state. To shake off nerves and boost motivation at the start of filming, she listens to Eminem's "Lose Yourself." Inspired by the lyric "One shot, one opportunity," she explained that she uses the song to steady her nerves and tell herself, "I have to show them what I've got today.'

Conversely, when she needs to tap into specific emotions or immerse herself in a character's relationship, she turns to Korean ballads. She mentioned listening to Kim Jong Seo's "Forever" most frequently while preparing for her current project. "Because they are such a loving couple, I focused on the lyrics and melody," Ahn added.

To find peace after filming wraps, she listens to classical music, demonstrating how she uses different genres to regulate the emotional fluctuations caused by various scenes.

From musical debut anecdotes to 'A Love Other Than Yours'

Ahn also shared a story from her musical theater debut. A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, she confessed that during her first musical audition, the only dance she knew was the Wonder Girls' "Tell Me." She performed the "Tell Me" choreography at the audition, which ultimately led to her musical debut.

Looking ahead, she shared details regarding the KBS weekend drama 'A Love Other Than Yours,' which is scheduled to premiere on September 12. Ahn explained that the story follows a couple in their 10th year dealing with a period of burnout; she plays a film director who begins filming adult films to pursue her dreams. The drama stars Seo Kang-joon and Ju-han. "Please look forward to the fun of this weekend drama," Ahn told viewers. In the series, Ahn will star alongside Seo Kang-joon, who plays a corporate assistant manager, and Ju-han, who portrays a charismatic lawyer.

During her performance on 'The Seasons,' Ahn also showcased her versatile side by performing "Tell Me" and "Nova Bossa" by Classic Kai.
