Singer Sung Si-kyung introduced gourmet restaurants in Gyeongnidan-gil, Yongsan District, Seoul, through his YouTube channel 'SUNG SI KYUNG'. In the video, the Western-style restaurant 'Paul's Diner' located at 6 Noksapyeong-daero 54-gil, Yongsan District, and the seafood specialty restaurant 'Yeosudaek' located at 17 Noksapyeong-daero 52-gil appeared in succession.
"So good I wanted to put it in my own recipe"... French cuisine at Paul's Diner
The first place Sung Si-kyung visited is 'Paul's Diner' in Gyeongnidan-gil. In the video, he explained, "The food is all delicious and it's a place where the menu keeps changing." In particular, regarding the gratin, which is one of the menu items, he evaluated the taste, saying, "This gratin was so delicious that I once even tried to put it in my own recipe."

Paul's Diner presents dishes utilizing French butter and high-quality salt. While spreading plenty of butter on bread and eating it, Sung Si-kyung said, "The most dangerous things in the world are delicious white wine along with French butter and bread." He mentioned various menus such as steak, salad, and pasta here, recommending it as a place for dates or gatherings with friends.
"There are hygiene issues, but the taste is certain"... Yeosudaek's steamed ray and a glass of soju
Next, Sung Si-kyung visited 'Yeosudaek', which handles seasonal fish brought from the southern coast of the West Sea. Before visiting, he mentioned the restroom and hygiene issues in advance, saying, "Those for whom the restroom is important must absolutely not go, and if hygiene is important, it is better not to go." However, he showed trust in the taste, stating that this is "a place sincere about cooking."

On this day, Sung Si-kyung chose the steamed ray worth 70,000 won. Instead of 'deokja', which refers to a large silver pomfret over 50cm, he recommended steamed ray, emphasizing that the taste of ray is consistent. The steamed ray in the video has a soft texture rather than being fermented skate, and it features the characteristic of being able to eat even the bones.
During the meal, the generous composition of 'Yeosudaek' was notable. Before the main fish dish was served, pancakes, fried eggs, and Yeosu crab marinated in soy sauce provided as service appeared in succession. Sung Si-kyung mentioned that the balance of these side dishes is so good that one can drink soju even before the main dish is served.
An episode from a regular reporter and Sung Si-kyung's gourmet preferences
During the meal, Sung Si-kyung shared an anecdote from when the 'Meokeultende' content was popular in the past. There was an episode where a reporter once wrote an article introducing Sung Si-kyung's regular restaurant, and the reporter was anxious that Sung Si-kyung might come to take away their regular spot. Regarding this, Sung Si-kyung replied, "To anyone looking, it was that place."
While revealing that he usually thinks of comfortable foods like gukbap or Chinese restaurants, he showed himself moving between Western and Korean food through a gourmet tour following the narrow alleys of Gyeongnidan-gil.
