Ahn So-hee, who has a great interest in automobiles, personally test-drove the BMW iX3 to check the vehicle's functions and driving performance. In this test drive shared by Ahn So-hee, specific experiences were included, ranging from the design features of the BMW iX3, which is designed based on a 100% electric vehicle platform, to interior convenience specifications and the ride quality felt during actual driving.

"Overall 100% electric vehicle-based" Design and interior specifications

Ahn So-hee visited a BMW dealership to examine the exterior and interior of the iX3, which she encountered in person for the first time. Unlike existing engine-based electric vehicles, this model is characterized by being a vehicle type manufactured entirely on a 100% electric vehicle platform. Based on the M Sport Pro model, 22-inch wheels are equipped, and a design using plastic materials near the brakes to reduce air resistance was also confirmed.

Inside, the interface through which the driver can diversely change information via 'Panoramic iDrive' caught the eye. Ahn So-hee mentioned that the configuration with a cluster is convenient, and she confirmed the convenience of the screen set around the driver, the built-in TMAP, and the wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additionally, detailed specifications such as the interior applied with Harman Kardon speakers (460W, 13 speakers) and a five-layer laminated glass sunroof with a 99.9% UV protection rate were introduced.

"Less motion sickness typical of electric vehicles" City driving performance and ride quality

During city driving conducted mainly around the Namsan area, Ahn So-hee evaluated the driving texture of the iX3. She mentioned that while the steering wheel weight is heavy, it operates smoothly when steering and maintains stability even during cornering. In particular, regarding the motion sickness that can occur when driving an electric vehicle, she explained that this vehicle has a proper mix of a hard body feel, making it less prone to motion sickness.

Regarding acceleration and braking performance, she reacted that the response speed is agile, making driving comfortable. The brakes also responded immediately, providing stability, and it simultaneously delivered a feeling similar to driving a regular internal combustion engine vehicle rather than the floating feeling typical of electric vehicles. Ahn So-hee cited technological advancement and fun, along with environmental aspects, as reasons for riding an electric vehicle.

"250km with 10-minute charge" Efficiency of the 800V system

In terms of charging efficiency, the merits of the 800V system applied to the iX3 were emphasized. Ahn So-hee confirmed that it takes 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, and with just 10 minutes of charging, the performance to drive approximately 250km is available. This also appeared as an efficient figure in terms of charging costs.

The vehicle price varies depending on the model. The M Sport Pro model was confirmed to be around 92.8 million won, and the M Sport model was around 87 million won. Ahn So-hee added that practical performance as an electric vehicle, such as driving range and charging speed, could be an advantage for users who prefer long-distance driving.
