The unique production process of the music video for the theme song 'A Check Instead of a Crown', produced using AI technology by creator Shindongdengdong, has been revealed. In this music video, the AI model Claude took charge of everything from planning to screen composition and editing stages, creating a result that differs from existing production methods.

"Too tacky and lame" Second round of work begins after rejecting the first result

According to the production process shared by Shindongdengdong, this work was carried out through collaboration with AI. Shindongdengdong created the song using the music generation AI Suno, and at 1:35 AM on October 8, he delivered the song file to Claude with the instruction, "I'll leave everything to you. Just make everything yourself and show me."

The first attempt, the 'Shindongdengdong HQ' version, was completed 1 hour and 9 minutes after the request. This video, which composed 31 AI video cuts to the beat, used approximately 300 credits of Higgsfield. However, Shindongdengdong's reaction to the result was cold. He demanded higher quality and ordered a rework, saying, "It's too tacky and lame.. It's the worst."

Reproducing the 2005 PC environment, a winning move in 'screen recording' format without AI art

The second version, 'SHINDOWS XP', born through the rework, took a completely different direction. It took a 'screen recording' format, as if the PC environment of 2005, when Shindongdengdong debuted, was being turned on again in 2026. The characteristic of this version is that not a single AI-generated image was used. Claude drew the boot screen, windows, 46 icons, and even the 26,000 strokes of grass on the desktop entirely with code.

The visual fun of the music video comes from the 'screen gags' placed with every line of the lyrics. Elements that can be encountered in a PC environment, such as confirmation windows, messenger vibrations, windows that increase as you close them, subscription installation wizards, card games, and blue screens, were placed in sync with the lyrics. The video inside the windows utilized footage filmed directly by Shindongdengdong on September 25.

It took approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes to reach final completion, passing through the AI art director's 9th inspection and 2 draft processes. Once Claude established the framework for planning, screens, and editing, Shindongdengdong performed the final beat editing to finish the work.
