NEXZ shares 'LOCO' performance behind-the-scenes: 'It's so addictive'

The group NEXZ has released behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of their new song 'LOCO' performance video. The video captures the members' candid conversations and various episodes from the set, revealing a side of them different from their stage personas.

"A unique song at first"... First impressions and choreography highlights

In the video, the members shared their honest feelings upon first encountering 'LOCO.' The members revealed that when they first heard the track, they thought, "What is this song?" adding, "It wasn't in a bad way; we just thought it was unique, but the more we listened, the more we loved its addictive quality." They also expressed anticipation that, following their title track 'SAUCIN', this song would also be exciting to perform live.

The members also highlighted specific points in the choreography. "The part with the waist-hitting movement features Tomoya and Yuga at the center, and it looks great because it suits them so well," they noted. Furthermore, they explained the creative direction of the performance, saying, "Please pay attention to the choreography and facial expressions that represent NEXZ, as well as the part where we say 'Waja'." One member specifically noted an attempt to evolve their performance style: "We haven't used many facial expressions until now, but through this song, we wanted to show a different side, so we intentionally used a lot of facial expressions."

The members also expressed their affection for the tracks on the album. "All the songs included in this album are great, so please recommend them often," they said, adding, "These songs shine even more when watched alongside the choreography." They expressed overall satisfaction with the album, noting, "Alien is also so good, and the songs on this 1st album really make you want to listen to them with headphones on."

Filming amidst 40°C heat and insect attacks

The filming environment was far from easy. The members mentioned that temperatures on set were extreme, approaching nearly 40°C. One member expressed the difficulty of the weather, saying, "When you dance in this heat, your stamina drains even faster," noting that their clothes were sticking to their bodies due to sweat. The members even joked about the intensity, saying, "It feels like the Earth isn't listening to us."

The shoot was also interrupted by the unexpected appearance of insects. In the video, the members appeared flustered and frightened as bugs flew toward them, with one member noting how an insect even hit them in the chest. The members described the tense atmosphere, jokingly saying, "The bugs appeared suddenly without any manners."

"We look better in person"... Member chemistry on display

Cheerful interactions between the members were captured throughout the shoot. The members brightened the atmosphere by joking about their visuals, with one remarking, "NEXZ looks better in person than in photos," and adding, "Many people tell us we look much cooler in real life." Their close bond was also evident as they moved to avoid the rain after filming and discussed wanting to go to Waterbomb to beat the heat.
