ILLIT hosts 'filial piety tour' for sisters with Hongdae shopping and Michelin dining

K-pop group ILLIT planned a special Seoul tour for their "older sisters" visiting from Dangjin to celebrate Chuseok. The group released a video capturing their efforts to showcase Seoul's scenery and culture, with members dividing themselves into teams to manage food preparation, shopping, atmosphere, and tour guiding.

From Galbi-jjim to 'Sik-mang-chu': ILLIT's unique Chuseok menu

The tour began with the members preparing Chuseok dishes themselves. While selecting Galbi-jjim (braised short ribs) as the main course, the members discussed menu compositions that reflected recent food trends. To incorporate the popularity of "Wakaba salt bread," they proposed making Songpyeon in a Wakaba style and prepared dishes such as "Bulldak Enoki Mushrooms." They completed their unique menu by proposing "Sik-mang-chu"—a variation of the trendy "A-mang-chu" dessert—as a final course.

During the preparation, the members established a systematic plan by assigning specific roles: food leader, shopping leader, atmosphere leader, water manager, and even a tour guide microphone manager. While cooking, they experimented with a mango-based dessert to complement the enoki mushroom dish. The members enjoyed tasting their handmade creations, discussing specific techniques such as using frozen mango to perfect the dessert.

After their meal, ILLIT headed to vintage shops in Hongdae to continue their tour. With a budget of 100,000 won, the members focused on finding Chuseok outfits in their signature "ILLIT-core" style. Whenever they found something they liked, the members confidently shouted the slogan, "Nae kkarida!" (This is so cool!).

The members showcased their individual tastes by browsing primary colors, glittery materials, and denim. One member even reminisced about her trainee days upon finding a style she frequently wore in the past. Throughout the shopping spree, they explored various aesthetics, suggested twin looks, and tried on different outfits. After finishing, the members posed for a group photo in their new attire, looking like true Hongdae fashion People.

The tour reached its peak at a Michelin 3-star Korean fine dining restaurant. The members noted how difficult the venue is to book before enjoying a sophisticated course meal. The menu featured a magnificent selection, including Wakaba-style dishes, Spicy Glazed Enoki, Rose Braised Short Ribs, and Silky Mango Tropical.
