Clion to supply LXHUB AI interpretation for 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo

NBNTV = Reporter Ban Jae-dong. AI cloud specialist Clion announced it will sponsor and supply its generative AI interpretation solution, LXHUB, to support the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo and ensure seamless communication for international visitors.

Scheduled to run from September 5 to November 4, the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo will be centered in the Jinmo district of Dolsan, Yeosu, with additional venues at the Yeosu World Expo site, Gaedo, and Geumodo. The organizing committee plans to bolster its multilingual guidance system to address foreign visitors' inquiries regarding transportation, tourism, local experiences, and safety.

Clion has integrated approximately 300,000 data points into LXHUB, including local proper nouns, technical terms, and anticipated questions and answers tailored for the expo.

The training data includes names of Yeosu-area islands such as Gaedo, Geumodo, and Nangdo, as well as event programs like 'Seomseom Camping' and 'Bireong-gil Trekking,' ferry routes, and terms related to local specialties and tourist facilities.

The company also analyzed accent and phonological variations that may occur when foreign visitors pronounce Korean place names and event titles. To mitigate spacing errors and misidentifications of similar-sounding words, Clion established separate pronunciation variation data for various languages.

LXHUB utilizes speech recognition correction and context analysis technology based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Even if proper nouns related to the event or region are misrecognized, the system uses the conversation flow and pre-established data to identify and reflect the official names in the translation.

The service will operate via tablets used by both foreign visitors and information staff. A visitor's speech is converted into Korean text for the staff, while the staff's response is translated back into the visitor's language through both voice and text.

Clion expects the solution to reduce the workload of on-site personnel and improve information accessibility, enabling real-time responses even at information centers where dedicated interpreters are not stationed.

“In international events, it is crucial to accurately recognize not only general sentences but also local place names, transportation, and event programs,” a Clion official said. “We plan to support foreign visitors on-site through LXHUB, which utilizes data specialized for the expo.”

Clion intends to refine its translation accuracy by analyzing inquiry types and speech recognition results during the expo. Moving forward, the company plans to expand the deployment of its solution to sectors requiring multilingual face-to-face consultation, such as tourist information centers, medical and educational institutions, and foreign support agencies.
