The stage concept and directing intentions for the 'CAN'T KILL Hydra' performance, presented by Shimizu and In-gyu during the fifth episode of Mnet's 'SDF', have been revealed. In the released video, the performers provided detailed explanations regarding the stage composition and character settings.

Character settings and directing reflecting monster traits

The performers stated that they incorporated the characteristics of the 'Hydra', the core motif of this stage, into the stage direction. According to the explanation in the video, a Hydra is a monster that regrows its neck even if it is severed and becomes more aggressive the more it is attacked. Noting that there is a thin line between being scary and being cool, the performers worked to simultaneously convey a sense of being both terrifying and impressive to embody the Hydra image.

In particular, regarding Bailey Sok's dance performance, they heightened the tension of the stage by mentioning that a wild, uncontrollable flow occurs when measuring combat power numerically. Furthermore, in certain sections, they expressed the appearance of the 'Hydra King'—a being reborn and awakening as a different entity—and prepared devices to clearly convey the meaning of the lyrics. The intro scene was planned to evoke the feeling of a monster before its birth, signaling the start of the performance.

An intro created by coincidence and details of stage composition

Interesting behind-the-scenes stories were also shared regarding the direction of the stage introduction. The performers mentioned a situation in the intro scene where the two were striking the same pose, explaining that it was a mysterious coincidence that could happen with a probability of one in several million. They also shared their intention to evoke the feeling of a monster before it is born while considering the composition of the intro scene.

Discussions continued regarding the stage costumes and styling. The performers utilized makeup to give the impression that they could jump into battle immediately, and created the stage atmosphere through an approach similar to a 'Queen' in comeback mode.
