Chef Kwon Sung-jun's 'laboratory' fridge shocks MCs
Stars of Netflix's 'Culinary Class Wars' Kwon Sung-jun and Yun Nam-no reveal unique lifestyles on the JTBC 'Chef & My Fridge' Chuseok special.
The stars of Netflix's 'Culinary Class Wars' showcased their unique personalities on the JTBC Chuseok special of 'Chef & My Fridge.' In the episode broadcast on September 20, 2026, chefs Kwon Sung-jun and Yun Nam-no, known as the 'Twin Chefs,' shared lighthearted conversation with the MCs while revealing their respective studio refrigerators.

"Growing basil in a refrigerator?" Chef Kwon Sung-jun's laboratory-like fridge
The center of attention was the refrigerator belonging to Kwon, the winner of 'Culinary Class Wars' Season 1. Rather than one from his home, Kwon presented his studio refrigerator, explaining that he spends most of his time at his workspace and only sleeps at home. The interior revealed lemon basil and basil, leaving the MCs stunned to see plants being cultivated inside a fridge. Reacting to the sight, the MCs remarked that it "looks like a laboratory" and noted that the plants would likely grow much better outdoors.
Kwon's diet management also drew interest. He revealed that he typically eats chicken breast and rice for breakfast and dinner, specifically utilizing 'farro,' an ancient Italian grain, to maintain his diet. He noted that he lost approximately 10kg over about 6 months using this method. Also found in the fridge was a container of flour and water used to cultivate 'levain,' a natural yeast. He added that he feeds the levain daily to make bread.
Furthermore, high-end ingredients such as Spanish 'carabinero' and 'scampi' red shrimp were discovered in Kwon's fridge. He explained that he brings ingredients from the store to his studio to use for testing and research purposes. Adding a humorous twist, it was revealed that the soju sitting in the fridge was actually left there by his younger sister. He noted that he rarely enjoys alcohol, to the point where colleagues have remarked they have never seen him drink even at company dinners.
'Food Professor' Yun Nam-no's fridge and gifted ingredients
Next, Yun's refrigerator revealed a different charm. Through his ingredients, Yun showcased his close relationships with those around him. The fridge contained strawberry jam gifted by a participant from a previous filming, for which Yun expressed his gratitude, noting, "This was made by Mrs. Jang in Nonsan." Heartfelt gifts such as dried persimmons, seemingly sent by Mrs. Choi from Jirisan, were also identified.
Discussing his diet, Yun mentioned that he tends to eat more than usual during the filming of 'Chef & My Fridge.' Introducing himself as a "database," he revealed a wide variety of ingredients. Appearing as the 'Twin Chefs' alongside Kwon, he joked that since their appearance might be a one-time event, "The two of us are perfect for single use."
A 'shaved head' pledge to reach 3.8% viewership rating
The duo's appearance provided a fresh shock to the MCs. In particular, Kwon heightened the atmosphere by presenting a concept reminiscent of a male actor making a comeback after two years, sporting a suit and a flashy watch. The cast engaged in a tense conversation while predicting the viewership rating for this Chuseok special.
Yun predicted the viewership rating would reach around 3.8%. He made a radical pledge: if that rating is achieved, he will undergo a 'shaved head.' The MCs responded, "If it's a shaved head, 3.8% is definitely possible," while the two chefs drew laughter by joking that, as 'twins,' they could carry out the pledge together.
