According to Kakao Games on the 2nd, BackendX possesses solution technology capable of creating software blueprints through natural language dialogue alone and automatically building, deploying, and operating backends via approximately 50 AI agent pipelines.

The company was founded in July 2025 by CEO Moon Dae-gyeong, an industry veteran who previously served as the Head of New Technology Development and Server Team Leader at NEXON Korea, and as CEO of iFun Factory, a specialized game server engine developer (which sold management rights to Coinone in 2018). Ahead of its official service launch on the 7th, the company is currently accepting pre-registrations from users.

Kakao Games highly valued the potential of BackendX, which offers backend solutions for service operation and deployment, as the "vibe coding" market—where individuals can create apps without professional development expertise—experiences rapid growth.

Through this investment, Kakao Games expects to enhance its high-quality game development and service capabilities by: ▲ early discovery of promising indie and small-scale developers to expand future acquisition and publishing pipelines, and ▲ strengthening its own competitiveness by providing BackendX services to small-scale developers under publishing contracts.

Kim Tae-hwan, CEO of Kakao Games, stated, "We believe the solution held by BackendX has great utility as it can be easily used by indie game developers in the global market. In step with the AX (AI Transformation) era, we intend to increase the company-wide utilization of AI technology and ultimately contribute to enhancing our business competitiveness and corporate value."
