In a video from KBS 2TV's 'The Seasons - Sung Si-kyung's Ear-Pleasing Boyfriend' broadcast on the 18th, Soyeon revealed the motivation behind her dream of becoming a singer, her attitude toward music, and a special anecdote involving her role model, singer Seo In-young.

A dream since 3rd grade: music as the source of self-esteem

During the broadcast, Soyeon stated that she began dreaming of becoming a singer around the 3rd grade (ten years old). She mentioned that she made concrete efforts, such as attending auditions starting from the 4th grade. Regarding music, Soyeon touched upon its significance to her, saying, "If I didn't have music, it would have been a real problem, as it is like my self-esteem."

A meeting with her role model arranged via direct email

Soyeon named Seo In-young as the senior artist who served as her inspiration during her days of dreaming of becoming a singer. Expressing her fondness for Seo In-young's style, Soyeon revealed a recent anecdote about meeting her in person. Soyeon explained that she wanted to meet Seo In-young so badly that she sent an email directly through YouTube, which successfully led to the meeting.

The meeting between the two went beyond a simple greeting and led to musical exchange. According to Soyeon, after listening to her song 'Star,' Seo In-young even reached out expressing a desire to work together on a music video again. Soyeon expressed her gratitude, stating, "Actually, the song 'Star' was written because I wanted to do it like senior Seo In-young."

"Keep music young, keep the person deep": her attitude toward entering her 30s

Approaching her 10th year since debut next year and entering her 30s, Soyeon shared her philosophy for her future activities. Soyeon said, "Rather than saying I have to grow up just because I turned 30, I want to be someone who can still make fun music."

She continued, "Musically, I don't want to grow up, but as a person, I want to keep becoming deeper," expressing her wish to keep her music young while maturing as a human being.

On this day, Soyeon attempted a musical variation by performing a special stage reinterpreting Seo In-young's song 'Cinderella' to the beat of her own song 'Star'.
