Nam Gyu-ri discusses album and drama projects in Shanghai

Singer and actress Nam Gyu-ri has begun taking concrete steps to enter the Chinese market. While preparing for SeeYa's 20th anniversary nationwide tour, Nam recently visited Shanghai to discuss collaboration opportunities with local record labels and drama industry officials.

Nam shared the news via a vlog documenting her business trip on her official YouTube channel, Gyulmeong. In the video, she visits a major record label in Shanghai—a place she hasn't visited in 10 years—to conduct business meetings. Upon boarding her flight, she remarked, "I have a meeting with a large record company in Shanghai this time. I'm boarding the plane to tour the company and discuss business. I hope everything goes well."

Building local networks and global activity plans

Upon arriving in Shanghai, Nam met with Wei Ziyue, a younger artist currently active in the region. After touring the agency venue of Wei, a former audition program contestant, Nam noted how music allows artists to connect with people worldwide. She expressed her determination to perform abroad, stating, "I am also looking forward to the day I can stand on a Chinese stage as soon as possible."

The business trip continued with meetings over meals with local partners. After strolling through the Shanghai Bund with an interpreter to soak in the local atmosphere, Nam strengthened cooperative ties while dining at a hot pot restaurant, where discussions regarding future projects took place. As she headed to the airport to conclude her trip, Nam revealed her future plans: "I have decided to release an album, act in dramas, and collaborate on various projects in China moving forward. I will work hard to prepare once I return to Korea. I feel like I've gained a new dream and am leaving with new energy rising.""

Preparing for SeeYa's 20th anniversary nationwide tour

After completing her schedule in China, Nam returned to Korea to begin preparing for SeeYa's full-group performances. The end of her vlog shows her practicing choreography for SeeYa's 20th anniversary nationwide tour, THE FAN.

The SeeYa tour is set to kick off at the Kyung Hee University Peace Hall in Seoul on August 29 and 30, 2026. The tour will then travel through seven cities, including Busan, Daegu, Suwon, Cheongju, Goyang, and Incheon. Nam plans to balance her preparations for her Chinese projects with the SeeYa tour schedule.
