KATSEYE hits No. 8 on Spotify Global chart with 'Animal'

KATSEYE, the global girl group co-produced by HYBE and Geffen Records, is shattering records in the global music market with their new single 'Animal.' On the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart (covering July 31 to August 6) announced by Spotify on the 8th, 'Animal' climbed to No. 8, up one spot from the previous week. This marks a new personal best for KATSEYE. After debuting on the chart at No. 9 last week and surpassing the record of their previous track 'PINKY UP' (No. 18), the group has broken their career high once again in just one week.

Simultaneous entry into major UK and US charts

Success in the European and North American markets is following closely. In the UK Official Singles Top 100 (for August 7–13), 'Animal' took the No. 18 spot, successfully remaining in the Top 20 for two consecutive weeks. Although it dropped two spots compared to last week, it maintained its position in the upper ranks. Performance in the US market is also notable. 'Animal' entered the US Billboard Hot 100 (as of August 8) at No. 24. Furthermore, on the Billboard 'Global 200' chart, which is based on streaming data from approximately 200 countries, the song reached No. 10, breaking the group's highest ranking to date.

'Animal' is a track co-written by British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. KATSEYE is the result of combining HYBE's 'Multi-home, multi-genre' strategy with the K-pop production system. Formed through the audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' they officially debuted in the US in 2024. 'GOLDEN,' the OST for the Netflix animation 'K-pop Demon Hunters,' recorded No. 49 on the same chart and has remained on the chart for 59 weeks.
