KyungDong Navien launches ductless solution for air purifiers
KyungDong Navien introduces a ductless installation solution for dehumidifying ventilation purifiers, targeting homes without existing ductwork.
| NBNTV = Kim Min-ho | KyungDong Navien announced on the 31st that it is launching the 'Ductless Installation Solution for Dehumidifying Ventilation Purifiers' (hereinafter referred to as the Ductless Installation Solution).

The Ductless Installation Solution is designed to allow customers to install dehumidifying ventilation purifiers without the need for ceiling-embedded ductwork, even while they are currently residing in the home. By applying a window frame kit that acts as a passage for indoor and outdoor air and an integrated supply/exhaust diffuser that handles both intake and discharge simultaneously, it enables dehumidification and ventilation even in homes without ducts.
Depending on the installation conditions at the site, the process can be completed in a single day or as quickly as half a day. This expands the scope of application to existing apartment complexes and detached houses, where installation was previously difficult, allowing the company to provide life air solutions to more customers.
According to the Rules on Equipment Standards for Buildings, the installation of ventilation facilities has been mandatory for apartment complexes with 100 or more households since 2006, and since 2020, the scope has been expanded to apartment complexes and mixed-use buildings with 30 or more households. However, for homes built before these mandatory requirements, installing ventilation purifiers was nearly impossible due to the lack of existing ducts. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Apartment Living Environment Statistics,' approximately 7 million such households exist.
The core advantages of the dehumidifying ventilation purifier remain intact. It discharges contaminated indoor air and supplies fresh outdoor air through filters, while simultaneously managing temperature, humidity, and air quality through dual-dehumidification-based constant temperature dehumidification technology. Additionally, indoor air quality can be monitored in real-time via an air monitor, room controller, and the Navien Smart App.
Furthermore, the company provides customized installation options that account for balcony extensions, helping users manage indoor air quality across various home layouts. Detailed information is available through KyungDong Navien's online platform, 'Navien House.'
"Through the launch of the Ductless Installation Solution, we will significantly expand the application range of dehumidifying ventilation purifiers and present new possibilities in the indoor air quality management market," said Kim Yong-beom, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at KyungDong Navien. "We will continue to advance our life air solution technology to provide a pleasant living environment to more customers and lead market innovation.""
