Theater Group Ban to premiere 'Pearl of the Blue Dot' at Sogang University

| NBNTV = Jeong Chang-gyu | Theater Group Ban will present its 30th-anniversary original play, 'Pearl of the Blue Dot,' at the Sogang University Mary Hall Grand Theater from September 12 to 19.

The play follows a protagonist in the present day searching for a missing mother, utilizing a narrative structure that traverses different time periods, including a vintage tailor shop. The production brings to the stage the lives and memories of women marginalized throughout history.

The catalyst within the play serves as a symbol for characters who were previously unseen. The story aims to restore the traces of those left unrecorded by expanding individual memories into family histories and broader social spheres.

The cast features Yoon Jong-hoon, who will alternate the role of Park Yang-gi with Song Hyeon-seop. Kang Ye-won stars as Oh Jin-ju, Jeong Seong-ho serves as the mediator of time and space, and the ensemble includes Lee Jae-hee, Jeon Hyeon-a, Kim Jin-young, Cha Ji-ye, and Song Ji-na.

The production team includes writer Lee Ga-eul and director Park Jang-ryeol. Through a directorial approach that intersects the 1950s, 1979, and the present, the play explores the correlation between individuals and their respective eras.

Launched as a fellowship in 1996, Theater Group Ban has produced works such as 'Look Up,' 'Architect of the Labyrinth,' 'Exception and Custom,' 'Bloodline-21st Century Murderer,' and 'Leaving Home.'

During the run, a stage greeting will be held on September 12, followed by an audience talk event on the 13th. A program supporting night viewing will be available on the 18th. The play is rated 15+ and has a total running time of 135 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
