The planned performance series 'Safe Today,' hosted by the Bupyeong Cultural Foundation, was held on September 18 at the Dalnuri Small Theater within the Bupyeong Arts Center. The event was documented through a joint project by ZENERATE, which captured on-site interviews and live performance footage.

Bupyeong Cultural Foundation to continue popular music series for 20th anniversary

Shin Hyun-tae, an official from the Bupyeong Cultural Foundation, explained the foundation's mission during a video interview. Shin noted that the foundation is a local-level cultural institution celebrating its 20th anniversary, and emphasized its commitment to consistently hosting projects and performances centered on popular music. He explained that the 'Safe Today' series is specifically designed to help listeners forget the hardships of daily life and find peace at the end of the day through music.

According to the video description, Bupyeong was once the site of the US military ASCOM base, serving as a foundational hub where legendary musicians of post-war Korean popular music established their roots. Since its establishment in 2006, the Bupyeong Cultural Foundation has maintained its role as a music-centered cultural hub by operating the Bupyeong Arts Center, Haenuri Theater, and Dalnuri Theater.

The performance featured the band Sim Island and Pitch Truck Hijackers.
