Magician Park Min-bum shares the philosophy behind 'On & Off'
Magician Park Min-bum discusses his 'On & Off' channel, aiming to help viewers escape daily stress through total immersion in magic.
Magician Park Min-bum has revealed the purpose and vision behind his content channel, 'On & Off.' In a conversation released on the YouTube channel PH, Park discussed the meaning behind the channel name and his future plans.

"A time to turn off the daily switch and immerse yourself"
Park cited 'immersion' as the primary reason for choosing the name 'On & Off.' During the video, he explained that he discovered a common thread in the things he loves, including magic: the moments of immersion are the moments when all other thoughts disappear. His primary goal is for viewers to 'turn off their daily switches,' allowing them to escape the worries of the world and become fully immersed in his content.
However, he also addressed the risk of becoming so immersed in content that one fails to return to reality. Park emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance—gaining joy through content while being able to return to daily life with renewed energy. This duality is what inspired the 'On & Off' branding.
From translation work to channel management
Park also reflected on his history of providing translation services for PH. He explained that his experience translating videos at Arcana led to him translating the Repertoire series (Repertoire One, Repertoire Two, and Frazer Parker's Pals) at the request of PH. He noted that during a time when magic resources in Korean were scarce, studying English-speaking magic culture helped him improve both his language skills and his magic expertise.
Additionally, he discussed the structure of the 'On & Off' website. He noted that while the portfolio site and the lecture (repertoire) sales site were initially separate—causing some user confusion—they have since been integrated into a single platform for a more seamless experience.
"I will decide after operating until next May"
When asked about the future of his YouTube channel, Park provided a specific timeline. Having launched the channel in May of this year, he stated he will decide on its long-term direction after operating it until next May. He noted that by then, he will be able to "see the angle" regarding the channel's sustainability. If he decides to stop, he plans to return to his previous work of folding boxes.
