Saferzone adds three watermarking types to DLP to counter screen photography leaks

NBNTV = Reporter Joo Hyun-woong | To counter information leaks caused by photographing monitor screens with smartphones, Saferzone is adding watermarking capabilities to its endpoint DLP (Data Loss Prevention) products.

The company has configured the watermarks to operate within the existing DLP agent, eliminating the need to install separate programs.

Saferzone (CEO Kwon Chang-hoon), an endpoint and network DLP security company, announced on the 9th that it will include three types of visible and invisible watermarking solutions as standard security features in its endpoint DLP products.

Watermarking functions are used to display identification information on PC screens or documents, or to insert information that is difficult to detect with the naked eye to verify the source of photographed materials.

Saferzone integrated these functions into its DLP products specifically to address the threat of screen photography using smartphone cameras.

“Screen photography using smartphones does not leave information leak logs, so there are limits to responding with existing DLP or media control alone,” said Kwon. “We have applied the watermarking function as a standard security feature in our DLP products to respond to the leakage of important documents and personal information through screen photography.”
