ORN introduces 'A Suspicious Letter Arrived for Me,' an outdoor escape room-style program on Gukhwa Island to boost local tourism.
| NBNTV = Ban Jae-dong | An immersive tourism program is being launched on Gukhwa Island in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, where visitors walk the island to find clues and complete a mystery. The program utilizes the island as a massive outdoor escape room, requiring tourists to move across the landscape to complete various missions.

ORN is introducing 'A Suspicious Letter Arrived for Me,' an outdoor escape room-style tourism program set on Gukhwa Island.
The program was developed as part of the Korea Tourism Organization's '2026 Sea-nergy Island-Enterprise Win-Win Tourism Project.' This initiative involves approximately 24 companies participating across five local governments and eight islands nationwide, with each company operating tourism content centered on their selected island. ORN has selected Gukhwa Island as its primary location.
'A Suspicious Letter Arrived for Me' requires participants to traverse Gukhwa Island on foot using a mission notebook and a map to collect clues. After receiving an unidentified piece of mail at the starting point, participants must track the sender by locating clues scattered throughout the island.
The program incorporates the natural environment and local lore of Gukhwa Island. ORN explained that it collaborated with local residents and fishing village cooperatives to integrate the island's natural and community resources into the experience.
Gukhwa Island is located approximately 15 minutes by boat from Janggo Port in Dangjin and about 40 minutes from Gungpyeong Port in Hwaseong. The island features unique natural environments, including a seashell beach and a sea path that opens during low tide.
ORN previously operated Seasons 1 and 2 of the 'Biyangdo Outdoor Escape Room' on Biyangdo, Jeju, in 2025. According to the company, more than 2,000 people participated in that program.
Myeong Hyeon-ho, CEO of ORN, stated, "As tourists walk through Gukhwa Island and follow the story, they will naturally discover the charms of the island that have not been well known. We will continue to create content that allows people to enjoy islands alongside local communities for a long time."
