Actress Hwang Jung-eum visited Namdaemun Market for a day of casual shopping, where she candidly opened up about personal experiences from her past.

Hwang recently shared her visit to Namdaemun Market through her YouTube channel. Having frequented the market even during her pregnancy in the past, she returned after a long hiatus, initially seeking acupressure slippers before branching out to various household items.

In the video, Hwang expressed her determination to lose weight while purchasing the acupressure slippers. She noted, "I've gained quite a bit of weight lately," mentioning that her weight rose from 51–52kg to 57kg following a recent trip. She explained that she bought the slippers specifically to aid her diet. While browsing, she also picked up organic scrubbers, hand towels, and elephant-patterned towels. Expressing her enjoyment of the market, she joked, "I can't believe I'm buying scrubbers in my life." Her total spending for the day amounted to 156,000 won, which included 115,000 won for household goods and 76,000 won for lingerie.

"I did it secretly from my family": Confessing to past surgery and current changes

During her outing, Hwang revealed personal details without reservation. She disclosed that she typically prefers going "no-bra" at home, though she wears lace-designed bras when appearing on broadcasts.

Most notably, Hwang confessed to undergoing breast surgery around 2010. "I went and did it secretly without telling anyone, including my family," she explained. Regarding the changes since the procedure, she noted, "At that time, I preferred ones with caps for volume," but added that she now aims for a more natural look, stating, "These days, the trend is not to have surgery, so I removed them too." She also touched upon weight gain and blood circulation issues following the surgery, adding, "Now I just need to return everything to natural and focus on dieting."

Following her discussion on surgery and her current preferences, Hwang moved on to lingerie shopping. Prioritizing comfort, she browsed wire-free and sports-style underwear while chatting with merchants. "I can't wear ones with wires, so please give me something comfortable," she requested while checking sizes.

Hwang purchased several pieces of underwear so that her staff could wear them as well. At the end of the video, she teased a change in her future content, saying, "I'll wear underwear when I film YouTube now. I'll wear the ones with pads." After finishing her shopping, she concluded her visit by recommending a banquet noodle restaurant in Namdaemun Market, expressing her overall satisfaction with the trip.
