"Gum on the bus..." Kim Sung-ryung recalls a distressing childhood

Kim Sung-ryung recalled a tense episode from her childhood involving a distressing encounter on a bus. Describing a time when vendors sold goods on buses, she explained that as a middle school student sitting in the back seat, she was approached by a gum vendor who handed her gum and paper while sharing a story about living a difficult life after losing their parents. Kim did not realize at the time that she was expected to pay for the gum and ended up getting off the bus with it. When the vendor chased after her, Kim expressed her embarrassment, stating, "I was so shocked that my face turned pale," adding, "I was so flustered that I cried loudly."

She also mentioned how she came to work with masters of the South Korean film industry. A former Miss Korea, she entered the film industry following a proposal from director Lee Jang-ho, who had seen her advertisement photos, and expressed her excitement about working with senior actors such as Ahn Sung-ki. She revealed that the role she was offered at the time was an anchor, and she expressed great anticipation at the fact that her co-star was Ahn Sung-ki.

"I tried to erase it whenever I wanted to act": Choi Jung-won speaks on the destiny of an actor

Musical actor Choi Jung-won confessed to an acting life of a different nature than Kim Sung-ryung's. Although she was a "little actor" in elementary school who gathered neighborhood children to perform plays, she revealed that she has lived her adult life suppressing her desire to act. "Whenever the thought of wanting to act rose up, I tried to erase it," Choi said, explaining that she had disciplined herself because she believed acting is a special realm that is difficult for an ordinary person to handle. At the same time, she admitted to having a natural stage presence, stating, "I love it when people look at me." She noted that her desire for acting, which began when she was a member of a fairy tale acting department in elementary school and won an award for the work 'Emille Bell', served as the foundation for her growth into a musical star.

"Unfiltered sincerity": Two actors share the stage and their connections

The two expressed anticipation for the play 'The Glass Menagerie', which they are currently preparing for together. Kim Sung-ryung expressed her eagerness to meet on stage, looking forward to the chemistry with Choi Jung-won, who plays the same role. Choi shared an anecdote of her witty response to a citizen who recognized her at a restaurant, saying, "I can just let you know," demonstrating her characteristic "unfiltered sincerity" in being considerate of others. Kim explained that Choi has no filter in her heart and that everything she does is sincere.

Through this meeting, Seo Hyun-chul and Jung Jae-eun captured the modest yet intense life trajectories hidden behind the glamorous images of the actors. The conversation between the two went beyond simple reminiscence, showing the intersection of a serious attitude toward the profession of acting and their attitudes toward life.
