"Strength is experience, weakness is age": Moon Sang-hoon's quirky interview answers

In the video, Moon appeared at the interview wearing elderly makeup under the pseudonym 'Moon Lian.' During the process, he offered unique perspectives on U2U's philosophy and direction. Regarding the brand's quality, Moon noted that the company "does not compromise on quality" and possesses enough grit to even trouble a factory owner. He also emphasized the brand's unique rhythm, stating, "U2U shouldn't just be pretty; it needs to offer a slightly different flavor."

When asked the final question regarding his strengths and weaknesses, Moon shifted the mood of the room by answering, "My strength is having a lot of experience, and my weakness is being very old." He initially claimed to be 98 years old, but quickly showed his wit by referencing the 'OPAL (Old & New) generation,' adding, "My nephew was born in '98, so I changed it to 58."

During the interview, Moon also commented on the brand's growth potential, predicting its future by saying, "You'll be doing an IPO soon," "You'll take number one in cosmetics," and "You'll take number one in domestic brands."

Special effects makeup brings 'silver generation' character to life

To prepare for the interview, Moon utilized detailed special effects makeup, including dental implant prosthetics. The video captures him encountering other applicants while waiting and building his elderly character's backstory by mentioning past work experience at Samsung. He remained fully immersed in the role, at one point complaining of sudden stomach pain and tending to a doll named Lian, which acted as his grandson.

During the interview, Moon spoke with the CEO of U2U, sharing personal views on the brand's growth and IPO (Initial Public Offering). He posed questions that were both serious and humorous regarding the brand's value, stating, "I thought about the path the brand should take moving forward." He also offered advice to the CEO regarding brand management, suggesting, "Since YouTube has risen to a level that dictates branding, you must boldly have a YouTube channel."

The result was a success. Upon receiving the news of his acceptance from the CEO at the end of the video, Moon responded, "I will work hard," and "I will become a 'Mundeuk' (a play on his name and the brand name) to U2U." The video successfully blended Moon's 'silver intern' persona with the brand identity of U2U.
