Broadcaster Lee Seong-mi opens up on Dongchimi about her 13th surgery and the mixed emotions she felt toward her husband during her recovery.
Broadcaster Lee Seong-mi has opened up about her recent surgical experience and the subtle emotions she felt toward her husband during her recovery.

In a recent video from the YouTube channel 'Dongchimi,' cast members discussed marital relationships, nursing care, and individual approaches to health management. During the conversation, Lee mentioned her 13th surgery and her husband's behavior at the time.
"I was anxious that my husband might die first" — Lee's memories of surgery
Recalling a recent major surgery, Lee described the moment her husband visited her hospital room. According to Lee, her husband stayed by her side following the procedure. However, she admitted to feeling conflicted when she saw him fall asleep in the darkened room. She shared that she felt an overwhelming anxiety that her husband might pass away before her, which led her to wake him up and even lose her temper with him.
Explaining her irritation at seeing him sleep, Lee revealed that after seeing him sitting there with his clothes half-on, she realized she was being unreasonable. She added that she feels a sense of regret, wishing she had acted more affectionately or simply accepted his presence.
On independent marriages and perspectives on nursing care
Lee described her marital relationship as one of "individual independence." She explained that she is not accustomed to acting spoiled or asking her husband for help, noting that she often finds hiring a professional caregiver more comfortable than relying on a spouse. She added that because she has high standards, she prefers not to entrust her care to him to avoid friction.
The video also featured other cast members sharing how nursing care and physical affection affect marital bonds. One participant described a moment of romantic tension when her husband massaged her hand and their eyes met.
Lee concluded her thoughts on marriage by suggesting that even if a partner is somewhat lacking, one should get into the habit of letting them help.
