Go Kyung-pyo and Ryu Hye-young show 16-year friendship chemistry
Go Kyung-pyo and Ryu Hye-young reunite on MBC's I Live Alone, sparking 'Reply 1988' nostalgia with their long-standing friendship.
Actor Go Kyung-pyo was captured naturally fixing the bangs of his close friend of 16 years, Ryu Hye-young. The two share a special connection, having played Seong Bo-ra and Seong Sun-woo in the drama 'Reply 1988'. The studio of MBC's 'I Live Alone' buzzed with excitement at their unexpected chemistry, recalling their drama couple pairing. In the episode of MBC's 'I Live Alone' (directed by Heo Hang, Kang Ji-hee, Kim Jin-kyung, Moon Ki-young, and Jeong Ji-un) airing at 11:10 PM on the 7th, the daily lives of Ryu and Go are shown, along with a stamina-boosting meal prepared by the 'Dung-eo-riz' members: Gu Seong Hwan, Kim Shin-young, and Lee Sun-min.

In a video released ahead of the broadcast—where the 16-year friends even finished all the cold noodle broth—the two met at a famous naengmyeon (cold noodle) restaurant to flaunt their long-standing friendship. While eating, Go looked at Ryu, who was eating mul-naengmyeon, and asked, "Mul-naengmyeon... are you finished?" Ryu burst into laughter, responding, "Were you waiting for my mul-naengmyeon? You should have asked for it from the start!" Go showed an informal side, quickly finishing the remaining noodles as if he had been waiting for them.
Watching this scene, Code Kunst expressed surprise, saying, "He's like my dad," while Kian84 empathized, noting he also has a habit of asking for leftover food at the end. Kim Shin-young added meaning to Go's actions, saying it's convenient to be able to eat everything that's left. Kian84 revealed a past anecdote where he ate a lunch box left behind by Jun Hyun-moo, and Jun explained the situation at the time, shouting, "Who ate it like a stray cat!" Go used the egg white from the mul-naengmyeon to scoop up the broth in a unique way, earning the comment from Kim, "You feel like a hybrid food master."
'Seong Bo-ra ♥ Seong Sun-woo' nostalgia triggered by a single hair adjustment
After finishing their meal, the two followed a walking course prepared by Ryu. While walking and chatting about their recent lives, Go performed a sudden action by naturally reaching out to fix Ryu's bangs. The Rainbow members immediately recalled the Seong Bo-ra and Seong Sun-woo couple from the drama 'Reply 1988'. When Jun asked how they felt about the vibe between them at that moment, Ryu gave a firm reaction toward Go, replying, "I just realized it by watching this!" The Rainbow members, including Jun and Kian84, expressed anticipation for a change in their relationship, saying, "You never know what might happen in life."
Gu Seong Hwan's rooftop Hanwoo party and the 'Dung-eo-riz' inauguration
The scene of the 'Dung-eo-riz' members—consisting of Gu Seong Hwan, Kim Shin-young, and Lee Sun-min—boosting their stamina is also revealed. Gu opened up his rooftop for his younger members and personally prepared Hanwoo (Korean beef) sourced from a butcher shop. He demonstrated skillful hands as he butchered the meat, including shrimp meat and ribeye. Kim remarked, "This looked even more special," while looking at the meat Gu prepared.
The Hanwoo prepared by Gu was cooked over charcoal by Kim and Lee. Kim fed the very first piece of cooked meat to Gu. During the 'Dung-eo-riz' inaugural ceremony, Gu expressed his sincere desire to travel with the members, saying, "Actually, I wanted to go somewhere with you guys." Kim and Lee were moved by his words, and the scene showed them attempting to toast while timing it during Gu's long toast. Their journey, which began with charcoal-grilled Hanwoo, continues to the next course.
