According to indie developer WAWE on the 15th, "The Prime Minister's Crest: Path to Power" is set in a parallel Japan where a decade-long recession followed the collapse of the bubble economy.

The game follows the journey of protagonist Oriki Kazuma as he leads the emerging 'National Assembly' party, rising from a governor to the position of Prime Minister, the nation's highest authority.

Gameplay focuses on fiscal management and political decision-making. Players must balance income and expenditures using limited fiscal points; if the deficit exceeds the limit, the nation faces bankruptcy, ending the player's political career.

Additionally, the game features a massive scenario spanning 1 million characters. Depending on policy decisions, factional conflicts, fiscal status, approval ratings, and interpersonal relationships, the story unfolds into various endings, including reform, maintaining order, losing power, or death.

The game also implements a system to identify the ambitions and weaknesses of characters, allowing players to nurture aides and build relationships of trust. Furthermore, a mechanic is included where romantic elements can emerge through relationships with characters in precarious positions.
