| NBNTV = Jeong Dong-jin | GRAVITY GAME ARISE, the Japanese subsidiary of Gravity, will terminate its NBA RISE service in Japan on August 31. Originally released on November 24, 2021, as NBA RISE TO STARDOM, the service is concluding after approximately 4 years and 9 months (1,742 days).

Gravity Game Alliance (GGA) Announces August 31 End Date for Japan's NBA RISE

NBA RISE is a basketball card game developed using NBA IP, following an official licensing agreement between Gravity, the NBA, and the NBPA (National Basketball Players Association). Following the industry standard that sports games rely heavily on licensing, the game garnered significant attention upon its release by utilizing real-world data, including player cards, team logos, and match data.

While the service continued following a renewal from NBA RISE TO STARDOM to NBA RISE in February of last year, it could not avoid the eventual conclusion of its Japanese service.

Instead, Gravity appears to be maintaining NBA RISE in regions outside of Japan, having conducted tests in eight areas, including Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia, as recently as last month.

A representative from GRAVITY GAME ARISE stated, "We have focused on the development and operation of NBA RISE since February 20 of last year, but we have decided to terminate the service as we determined it is no longer possible to provide satisfactory service quite as we intended."
