ErudAite to debut Grimoire AI localization platform at TGS 2026

AI translation will soon enable the adaptation of cultural icons—such as transforming the Japanese folklore figure Momotaro into the Norse god Thor to better suit Western audiences—while maintaining consistent proper nouns and character speech styles throughout a work.

ErudAite, a startup with established expertise in financial and legal AI translation, has confirmed its participation in TGS 2026, where it will unveil Grimoire, an AI translation platform dedicated to creative content.

According to ErudAite on the 5th, Grimoire is an AI localization platform specialized for game scenarios, animation subtitles, comics, and more.

Equipped with its proprietary ErudAite v7.5 engine, which supports 59 languages, the platform analyzes the tone, character relationships, and individual speech styles of a work from multiple angles. Unlike simple sentence-by-sentence literal translation, Grimoire uniformly applies a single translation policy across dialogue, UI, item descriptions, and quest guides.

Founded in July 2024, ErudAite is a technology company that has focused on the B2B AI translation market for high-precision documents, including financial IR, legal, and public disclosure filings. The company is now expanding into the gaming and subculture industries, using TGS 2026 as its official debut in the gaming sector.

Grimoire focuses on overcoming the cultural nuances that frequently arise during localization. When encountering culturally specific terms like Momotaro, a localization director can set a policy—deciding whether to keep the proper noun, explain the meaning, or replace it with a figure familiar to Western audiences like Thor. The AI then learns this directive and applies it consistently throughout the entire project.

The suite consists of Grimoire Studio, a web app for setting translation policies, and Grimoire Translator, an Excel-based program for practical workflow execution.

On September 18 at 2 PM during the business days, ErudAite CEO Ida Kurado will present a seminar.

Kurado plans to conduct a live demonstration using a virtual game script under the theme: "Since there was no AI that could translate Momotaro into Thor, I made it myself and brought it here."

While Grimoire has yet to be applied to released games or commercial contracts, ErudAite aims to secure its first gaming application through its booth operations and presentations at TGS 2026. The company will offer product demonstrations and localization consultations at its booth and is currently recruiting 10 companies to participate in its alpha version.
