Com2uS N is set to expand its content business following the global success of the Disney+ original series 'A Shop for Killers Season 2'.
Com2uS N officially launched as an integrated entity on the 14th after completing the listing of its newly issued merger shares. The company explained that 'A Shop for Killers Season 2', the first major release following the integration, has confirmed the company's competitiveness in content production and IP business by achieving significant viewership performance in the global market.
On its first day of release, 'A Shop for Killers Season 2' ranked as the most-watched Korean original series on Disney+ worldwide. It also recorded high viewership performance among Korean content in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, and its early episodes received ratings in the 9 range on the global content rating site IMDb.
The 'A Shop for Killers' series involved participation in production by Merry Christmas, a content subsidiary of Com2uS N. Season 1 was previously named one of the 'Best International TV Shows of 2024' by the New York Times (NYT) and one of the 'Best Korean Dramas of 2024' by TIME.
Season 2 is being evaluated as having demonstrated the expansion potential of the series IP by achieving global viewership success following its predecessor.
Com2uS N plans to discover content IPs targeting the global market in the future and expand them into various business sectors. The company will integrate technologies such as AI, VFX, and XR into the content production process and pursue a business model that connects secured IPs to online/offline content and brand businesses.
A Com2uS N official stated, "The meaningful achievements of 'A Shop for Killers Season 2' in the global market serve as an example demonstrating the content production capabilities and IP business potential of the integrated entity. Moving forward, we will continue to secure competitive IPs and expand our IP business domain by combining technologies like AI, VFX, and XR with brand experiences."
