NBNTV = Ju Hyeon-ung. A permanent experiential space showcasing Korean beauty products and traditional cultural goods has opened in Tokyo, Japan. The program will focus on K-beauty during September and October, before shifting to exhibitions and programs centered on traditional crafts and national heritage in November and December.

The Korean Cultural Center in Japan, led by Director Park Yeong-hye, opened the multi-purpose experiential space 'Global K-ZONE' on the 5th, which will operate through December.

Under the overarching theme 'What is Korea right now?', Global K-ZONE will feature rotating exhibition content. During September and October, the space will introduce Korean cosmetics and beauty culture under the theme 'K-Beauty: A Journey to K-Beauty.' The exhibition features 194 types of beauty products from 52 brands.

The September exhibition is designed around the Seoul districts of Myeong-dong and Seongsu. The space reflects the specific beauty brands and retail cultures found in these areas to introduce current Korean cosmetic trends.

Through the 11th, the center will also host 'Beauty Day' programs. Activities include AI skin diagnosis, lip gloss making, and creating pouches featuring Korean design elements. The program also includes makeup events and performances that combine makeup with modern ballet.

In October, the exhibition will shift focus to the Seoul districts of Gangnam and Bukchon, showcasing content that blends traditional Korean culture with modern beauty.

In November and December, the theme will change to 'Korean Tradition Meets Brands.' This phase will introduce museum goods and cultural products that offer modern reinterpretations of traditional Korean crafts, artisan techniques, and national heritage.

“Through Global K-ZONE, we have prepared diverse content so that visitors can experience Korean culture and the latest lifestyle more closely through all five senses,” said Park. “As various Korean products are currently popular in Japan, we hope Global K-ZONE will bridge the gap between products and culture, turning interest in specific items into sustained interest in Korean culture as a whole.”
