From "Please bring some toilet paper" to drunk calls claiming "I've been kidnapped"

Inspector Jang also explained the various types of reports received while working in the situation room. He stated that while punishments for false reports have been strengthened recently, leading to a decrease in such reports, absurd reports are still received. He cited an example of a report asking to bring toilet paper because there was none in a public restroom, mentioning requests that do not align with the role of the 112 emergency reporting center. He also shared a case where a drunk caller sobbed, claiming they had been kidnapped in a way that did not match the surrounding circumstances.

A situation room worker whose habit became identifying landmarks

He also mentioned the changes that occurred from repeatedly asking for building names, signs, and landmarks to determine the caller's location in the situation room. Inspector Jang said that asking for nearby signs or apartment names to confirm the caller's location has become a natural habit. He added that since apartment names are often written in English these days, the process of identifying them is necessary. Furthermore, he explained that since callers sometimes indirectly indicate their location using business names, such as "the most delicious jokbal," understanding these has become part of the job.
