Yoon Yoo-sun's character in the KBS drama Love on the Menu struggles with her identity after living for 17 years avoiding her children. Following a failed attempt to deliver a lunch box to Seo-yeon, she expressed deep self-reproach and requested solitary time to process her psychological conflict.

In the KBS Drama 'Love on the Menu', Yoon Yoo-sun portrays a character experiencing confusion over her identity between two daughters. The drama depicts the process of gathering the fragments of a broken family to set a table for life, with Yoon Yoo-sun's character depicted as an individual undergoing psychological conflict between past choices and present relationships.

"Who am I, really?" Confusion over identity

Yoon Yoo-sun expressed deep self-reproach after failing to deliver a lunch box she had prepared for Seo-yeon. After visiting the front of the company to meet Seo-yeon but failing to make contact, she handed the prepared lunch box to Gyu-rim and fled the scene. In this process, Yoon Yoo-sun questioned her own value, asking whether she is Seo-yeon's mother or Gyu-rim's mother.

Despite being comforted by another person that she is both Seo-yeon's mother and Gyu-rim's mother, Yoon Yoo-sun showed regret over her past choices. She made remarks reflecting on her past, having lived for 17 years avoiding her children despite the difficult relationship with her ex-husband.

"Precarious like a sandcastle" Fear of collapsing

Regarding the reason she continued her past choices, Yoon Yoo-sun confessed that it was not because she refrained from having a younger sibling to remain faithful to Seo-yeon. She revealed her inner feelings, stating that because her current self is so precious, she feared that her children might leave her, causing the world she has built to collapse like a sandcastle. Her psychological withdrawal was so deep that she described her own state as "disgusting."

As Yoon Yoo-sun grew anxious, the other person tried to comfort her by suggesting they go for hotel breakfast instead of preparing a meal, but Yoon Yoo-sun distanced herself, stating she needed time to think alone. While expressing apologies to the other person, the scene continued with her requesting solitary time, saying, "Give me some time," in order to organize her own thoughts.
