Tak Jae-hun rejects junior Jung Jun-hill's 'No Back Tak Jae-hoon' invite

Singer and entertainer Tak Jae-hun shared serious musical perspectives at the intersection of music and variety entertainment.

Appearing on the program 'Jeong Junhil-ui Yaganbihaeng' on the YouTube channel 'YOO'S DESK.', Tak engaged in deep conversation while showcasing his musicality alongside host Jung Jun-hill. Due to the absence of Jung Joon Il, comedian Yoo Young-woo served as the guest MC for the episode.

During the session, Tak listened to 'Aeryeon', a song remade by Jung. Jung introduced the track, stating he wanted to perform a stripped-back version of the song originally released in 1998. "At that time, that kind of sorrowful sensibility was in fashion," Jung explained.

Before the performance, Tak offered a unique reaction to the lyrics. Pointing to lines such as "It's okay, now I know everything about you" and "I want to have you to death," Tak noted the intensity of the lyrics, remarking, "In this day and age, doing that is too scary," and "It feels like you could get reported if you did that."

Tak listened intently during Jung's performance of 'Aeryeon'. After singing, Jung added, "I think my ad-libs were weaker compared to other songs," but Tak responded positively to Jung's vocal ability and harmony, saying, "It was so good. I was surprised."

Jung posed an interesting question to Tak regarding his career path. Suggesting that if he possessed comedic talent, he should be given the opportunity to appear on the popular YouTube channel 'No Back Tak Jae-hoon', Jung tested the waters, saying, "I just need to be good at singing and be funny in the future."

In response, Tak offered a unique evaluation based on the musicality of the performance. After listening to the second song, 'I'm So Glad', which Jung sang by earnestly raising the key by half a step, Tak remarked, "There is no laughter in the song." He explained, "While singing, you should express all those emotions so that there is laughter and a sense of the song, but I can't find any laughter in this song," adding, "It's very ambiguous to decide on this."

However, regarding the version of the song featuring Jung's ad-libs, he expressed satisfaction, saying, "I've never heard a version like this before."

Regarding Jung's contemplation between music and variety entertainment—noting that "it is good to make people laugh"—Tak mentioned, "Doing music can show people more feelings and emotions."

When Jung remarked, "There is plenty of possibility that I could become the second Tak Jae-hun," Tak reminisced about his 1995 debut. Mentioning he was 32 years old at the time, Tak replied, "I wasn't that funny back then."

Jung expressed his ambition, saying, "I just need to be good at music and provide laughter well," and the video concluded with Tak's encouragement: "You just need to be funny in the future."
