Actor Shin Hyun-joon revealed a movie-like anecdote about how he met his current wife through a fateful encounter.

Shin Hyun-joon recalled the moment he first met his current wife on the recently broadcast tvN 'You Quiz on the Block'. At the time, Shin Hyun-joon had gone to eat makguksu with his acquaintance Kim Byung-man and made eye contact with his wife, who was standing by the roadside carrying a cello. Shin Hyun-joon reported that the moment he saw his wife, he felt like "someone I feel like I've seen for a very long time." His wife, being a fan of Shin Hyun-joon, requested an autograph, and Shin Hyun-joon, with a trembling heart, signed it while writing the date they first met.

Afterward, he wanted to ask for her contact information, but Shin Hyun-joon expressed his cautious feelings at the time, saying, "I thought asking for her contact information would be distasteful." Instead, he handed over a university business card he had in his pocket and asked, "By any chance, do you have a religion?" Shin Hyun-joon added that it was a question he asked because he had a desire to proselytize. Shin Hyun-joon confessed that his start as an actor was not smooth either. While attending the Department of Physical Education at Yonsei University, he embarked on the path of an actor by applying for a rookie actor recruitment hosted by director Im Won-tae, but he faced opposition from his father, who was in the construction business in the Middle East. His father was not pleased with the acting profession, saying, "Movies are something to be enjoyed, not something to do." After passing the audition, Shin Hyun-joon requested a meeting with his father through the director to convey his will to become an actor. After watching the movie premiere, his father accepted his son's path, leaving the words, "I will recognize you as a 'Ttanttara' (entertainer)."

However, in this process, Shin Hyun-joon confessed that he experienced economic difficulties, such as leaving cameras at a pawnshop, due to rebellious feelings toward his father. Recalling the weak days when he relied on his parents, Shin Hyun-joon stated that he acted honestly later by retrieving his father's camera and pipe. Shin Hyun-joon explained that while contemplating the child's name with his wife, they named the first child 'Min-jun', inspired by the name 'Jun-ah' that his father used to call him.
