Monthly rent for public rental housing can now be paid via credit card.

Previously, despite being a fixed monthly expense, public rental rent was criticized for being difficult to manage because there were few alternatives to cash payments. Furthermore, since only a limited number of cards were accepted for rent, young people living in public housing faced significant restrictions in their payment options.

According to Plda on the 21st, the company has launched the 'Jipjikyeo Rent Credit Card Payment Service' to alleviate these inconveniences for youth residing in public rental housing.

Jipjikyeo is introducing this service to reduce resident burden and expand payment options. By allowing rent to be paid through most major domestic credit card companies, the service resolves the issue of limited payment methods. It also allows users to bridge the gap when rent due dates do not align with their paydays, reducing the temporary burden of cash flow management.

Users can pay monthly rent and fixed management fees (excluding security deposits) via credit card, while also utilizing card benefits such as interest-free installments, reward points, and credit performance records.

Additionally, users can receive the necessary documentation for monthly rent tax credits during year-end tax settlements. If desired, they can opt to use transaction histories for credit card usage deductions instead of the monthly rent tax credit. This is particularly beneficial for those excluded from the monthly rent tax credit due to high rent amounts or large housing sizes, ensuring they do not miss out on tax-saving benefits.

To use the service, users must complete identity verification on the Jipjikyeo app, register their lease agreement, and enter the monthly rent, fixed management fees, landlord information, and deposit account details. Jipjikyeo then verifies the contract, landlord, and account details, checks for fraudulent activity, and transfers the payment to the landlord's account.

Tenants can complete the entire process through Jipjikyeo without needing to manually confirm the payment with the landlord or perform a separate transfer. Furthermore, tenants can apply independently without requiring separate consent from the landlord. The service is also available for general rental housing, mirroring the functionality provided for public rentals.

Kim Han-sung, CEO of Jipjikyeo, stated, "Residents of public rental housing have experienced inconvenience due to the narrow range of payment options available to them. Through this service, we are opening the door to credit card payments for public rental rent, helping users manage their housing costs according to their specific situations and cash flow. We will continue to expand our related service areas in the future."
