Korean fans fill Toronto venue: "More people came from Seattle"

Through conversations with audience members in Toronto, Lee highlighted the vibrant nature of the Korean community within North America. In a recent video, Lee commented on the audience composition for the Toronto show, noting, "It wasn't people from Vancouver who filled the seats, but people from Seattle," pointing out that many attendees had actually traveled from Seattle, USA.

The show featured impromptu conversations with audience members sharing various stories. Lee drove the energy of the room by interacting with a diverse crowd, including a former New York resident, a fan who admitted to liking him despite being married, and a mother and daughter duo who named a chaebol and a scientist as their ideal types. One audience member even drew laughter by venting about the frustration of waiting two hours for a bus that never arrived.

Lee explained the unique characteristics of the Korean audience he encountered during this tour. "At a BTS concert, many foreigners attend, but because my show is a truly intimate space, when Koreans come, they sometimes run into people they know or reunite with people they had lost touch with," he remarked. He added that these experiences of being recognized and connecting personally with his audience drive him to continue studying his craft.

Furthermore, he noted that North American comedians often use topics like "North Korea" when performing for Korean audiences, but expressed his own perspective on such tropes, stating, "We don't live our lives being that concerned about it."

Lee also touched upon his future plans following the North American tour. As he moves toward his next destination, Vancouver, he expressed regret that local theater circumstances prevented him from using footage from his Dallas performance. However, he teased, "Since the Chicago performance was very fun because we were able to use video, you will be able to see the Chicago footage next week."

The North American tour video series is set to conclude with the Chicago footage. Lee concluded with a message of gratitude to his fans: "I will prepare hard so that we can meet again next year, or the year after, or even when I get older, or whenever you come to Korea."
