Biuret Releases Chinese Single [Tropical Night] in Collaboration with Taiwanese Artist 鳳小岳

Rock band Biuret has presented the Chinese single [Tropical Night], a collaboration with Taiwanese actor and singer-songwriter 鳳小岳. This work is a project where rock artists from South Korea and Taiwan met and led to a creative outcome.

This new song is the result of the musical chemistry built by the two artists while sharing the stage at the Chinese-speaking music event GMA(Golden Melody Awards & Festival) and the Taiwan Spring Wave Music Festival. According to Biuret's agency, the collaboration was conceived following 鳳小岳's showcase, and the rapport between the two artists confirmed during subsequent performances became the background for the birth of this single.

To ensure the perfection of the song, Biuret traveled directly to Taiwan to conduct vocal recording and music video filming with 鳳小岳 for a single day. Biuret participated by writing the English lyrics for this song, while 鳳小岳 directly wrote the Chinese lyrics.

From reggae to alternative rock, a dramatic reversal of sound

The new song [Tropical Night] is based on the unreleased song 〈Tropical Night〉 composed and written by Biuret. The song's composition is characterized by a transition from a reggae rhythm in the introduction to a raw alternative rock sound in the latter half. In the introduction, the speaker's lethargy and the sentiment of summer are captured through reggae rhythms, while in the latter half, suppressed passion and longing are expressed through a rock sound that surges like a heavy rain shower.

鳳小岳 reinterpreted the sentiment of the original song in his own language to write the Chinese lyrics. Through poetic expressions such as 'Lost Paradise (失落天堂)' and 'The curtain of night gently covers me (夜幕輕輕將我蓋上)', he expanded the sentiments of wandering, solitude, and longing from the original song into urban and cinematic images.

Cinematic music video set in Taipei Ximending

The released music video was produced against the backdrop of the night in Taipei Ximending. Through visual direction where neon signs and darkness intersect, it realizes an aesthetic where reality and fantasy are mixed. The video visually unravels the loneliness and wandering contained in the song through the sight of lovers who accidentally reunite late at night and pass each other by.

鳳小岳, who participated in the featuring, is an actor who appeared in the movie Monga and Netflix's Light the Night, and is a person who won the Best Actor award at the 2025 Taiwan Golden Bell Awards. He is also active as a singer-songwriter who was nominated for three categories at the Golden Melody Awards for his first solo album in 2024.
