Blackcherry Club releases EP [BITTER MOTION]… A sound fusing synthesizers and R&B

The band Blackcherry Club has released the EP [BITTER MOTION], which contains new musical attempts. This album is characterized by moving beyond the existing framework of band sounds to bring synthesizer sounds to the forefront and combining R&B songwriting methods with the electronic music genre.

Fusion of Electronic Music and R&B, Implementing a New Sound

According to the released video description, this EP [BITTER MOTION] is the result of building up a rhythmical groove centered around distinctive synthesizer sounds. Blackcherry Club aims for a sound differentiated from existing band music by fusing R&B songwriting methods into the electronic music genre to present tracks that are both popular and sensible.

6 tracks capturing the emotional trajectory of the 'underdog' in love

The album title [BITTER MOTION] signifies the bitter actions and emotional trajectories experienced by those who become the 'underdog' (eul) in front of love. It multidimensionally captures the moments experienced by the person who likes more, pretending to be indifferent on the outside while their heart does not follow.

The album consists of a total of 6 tracks. They proceed in order: ▲'MOTION', which deals with the beginning of love ▲'you’re not a cute girl', which contains the worries caused by a playful remark ▲'Overthinking', which sings of suspicion caused by an indifferent attitude ▲'ITT', which carries the meaning that 'clapping only makes a sound when hands meet' ▲'Like ♡', which expresses good feelings even amidst a broken day ▲'See You Tomorrow', where they embrace each other again when morning comes.

Blackcherry Club-led producing and production participation

Blackcherry Club took charge of the producing for this EP. In the case of 'MOTION', Jang Yeong-hwan and Heo Ju-ha participated in the lyrics and composition; Jang Yeong-hwan was in charge of drums, bass, synthesizer performance, and arrangement, while Heo Ju-ha was in charge of vocals and backing vocals. The members' participation is prominent throughout the included songs, such as 'you’re not a cute girl' and 'Overthinking'. Mixing was divided and conducted by CRDL and Kim Hui-seong of UTMOST sound, and mastering was handled by CRDL of UTMOST sound.
